BRAVE RIVAL with The Mark Harrison Trio

Brave Rival are the South East’s rip-roaring rock and blues machine. Hailing from Portsmouth, the UK Blues Award Nominated band features the powerful and beautiful twin vocals of Chloe Josephine and Lindsey Bonnick. On lead guitar, providing dramatic guitar solos and crunching rock riffs is Ed “The Shred” Clarke, and holding it all together is the rhythmic backbone, the self-proclaimed engine room of Billy Dedman (bass) and Donna Peters (drums).

Drawing influence from the likes of John Mayer, Aretha Franklin, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and Tedeschi Trucks, Brave Rival offer a style and sound that you’ve always known, and yet never heard before.

Since its inception in the summer of 2019, Brave Rival has gone from strength to strength, having successfully won the Introducing Stage at Butlins Skegness Rock and Blues Festival in 2022 and then booked to play the mainstage at the 2023 festival. They were finalists in the 2022 UK Blues Awards Emerging Act Of The Year category and at the Awards in 2023 they were finalists in the Band Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Instrumentalist Of The Year categories.

Tipped as one of Joe Bonamassa’s “favourite discoveries this year” the future is looking incredibly bright for this young up-and-coming band. Brave Rival is a band on a meteoric rise, firing on all cylinders and is about to take the world by storm. Their unique combination of beautifully harmonic, soulful vocals, epic guitar solos, pounding drums and powerful bass serves up an infectious sound that is not to be missed.

In support of Brane Rival is the Mark Harrison Trio. There is no one in music quite like Mark. With his unique and acclaimed rhythm section, featuring the extraordinary musicianship of Charles Benfield (double bass) and Ben Welburn (drums/percussion), he is widely considered one of the most original and interesting artists around. His highly individual, all-original music has taken him and the band to some of the top venues and festivals in the UK, attracting compliments wherever they go.
A thrilling, rhythmic, finger-picker and slide player, with a very distinctive style, Mark is also a great songwriter and his songs cover all manner of subjects. With catchy tunes, lyrics than intrigue and engage, and striking rhythms, they make you smile, think and move. He takes elements of roots music, including folk, blues and gospel, to create something new that is very much his own genre.
